# Overview

While basic data migration functions can be performed using the [flow data migration](https://docs.appstrategy.com/apprules-r-documentation/platform/platform-features/flow-data-migration) workflow activities, the Migrate Data Activity offers extensive powerful functionality for executing high volume data migration, replication and synchronization jobs in appRules.
